Unterwasserlärm (Submarine noise pollution)
This brochure informs in two parts about noise pollution in the oceans and its consequences. In the first chapter man-made sound emissions are compared to the communication of sea mammals. The second chapter explains the process of the decompression sickness, which is responsible for the death of many marine mammals and is caused by underwater noise. The imagery has its origin in analogue experiments.
